OPEN SOURCE PROJECTS
The goal of STREETPRINT is to make formerly inaccessible texts and other artifacts available in an exciting new way to researchers, students, and the general public alike.
Originally STREETPRINT was designed as a PHP application that would be installed by researchers: each project requiring its own installation. Adoption was slowed by the requirement of both dedicated resources and technical knowledge needed to get the system up and running.
Our involvement was to assist in migrating STREETPRINT to a platform based solution where a researcher need only sign up to get their own site.
Based on the success of STREETPRINT, STREETMAG was started with the goal of becoming the simplest way to create, host and manage an online publication.
STREETMAG is currently under development and our first magazine should make its way online some time in the fall.
If you are interested in collaborating on this project please head over to the STREETLABS website and get the details.
In 2008 we were involved in the creation of the website for the PopPrint 2008 conference. This website was intended to be a place where attendees could share presentations and resources with conference goers.
Since the site was created several groups have asked about building their own version of a similar conference website.
STREETCONF will launch in late 2010 to fill this need by providing a hosted conference solution, similar to our approach with STREETMAG and STREETPRINT.
